OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers made a valiant comeback but came up short in a 4-3 loss to Park on Tuesday. The Pirates scored 2 quick goals in the 11th and 14th minutes to put MNU in a hole, but the Pioneers answered immediately with 2 quick goals of their own in the 16th and 17th minutes to tie the game. Park finished the 6-minute flurry with another goal in the 17th minute, and made it 4-2 at halftime with a goal in the 42nd minute.

The game settled in the second half as neither team could find the net, but MNU closed the gap in the 74th minute to make it 4-3. The Park defense stood firm in the final minutes, and MNU suffered the loss.

Turning Point
Park's goal late in the 1st half was the game-winner.

Cali Schechinger had a goal and an assist. Alyssa Ward and Kirsten Wetterstrom each had a goal. And Achaia Day and Laura Torres each recorded an assist.
