OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers dominated a 3-set sweep over Avila on Tuesday. The scores were 25-18, 25-15, and 25-15. In Set 1, the Pioneers led 21-11 before the Eagle went on a run. Avila scored 7 of 8 points to get close, but the Pioneers closed it out with 3 straight points to take the 1-0 lead. Sets 2 and 3 were dominated by MNU to complete the sweep.

"I always enjoy this across town game with Avila," said head coach Molly Karagyaurov. "Their coach and I are like minded so it is always fun! I was proud of the girls tonight to take care of business. Cassidy showed up in a big way to end rallies. Ashlyn really made her presence felt in our first contact. It was nice to get a win and we are looking forward to the weekend!"

MNU's strong finish to Set 1 thwarted any comeback.

Individual Leaders
Cassidy Crist hit .480 with 13 kills and 5 digs. Teresa Saunders had 8 kills and 4 blocks. Mia Olson and Charley Turner had 8 kills apiece. Katrina Davis had 20 assists. And Ashlyn Halford had 19 digs and 3 aces.
