ATCHISON, Kan. -Â The Pioneers closed the regular season with 4 losses at Benedictine on Friday and Saturday. In
Game 1, the Pioneers held a 4-2 lead into the bottom of the 7th, but the Ravens rallied to tie it. MNU loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the 8th, and a sacrifice fly put the Pioneers up 5-4. In the bottom of the 8th, a single was followed by a walkoff 2-run homer, and Benedictine took Game 1.

Benedictine's walkoff homer turned a deficit into a win.

Zach Trevino struck out 8 in 7 innings of a no-decision. And
Javier Melendez (2-4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, SB),
Noah Castillo (2-4),
Dionathan Cornet (1-3, 2 RBI) led the offense.
In
Game 2, the Pioneers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 2nd, but Benedictine scored 1 in the 2nd and 2 in the 3rd to take the lead. A
Javier Melendez RBI double tied the game in the top of the 5th, but the Ravens scored twice in the bottom of the inning for a 5-3 lead. MNU was retired in order in the 6th and 7th, and Benedictine swept Friday.

Drew Woodley led off with a solo homer, but the Ravens rallied for 2 in the bottom of the 1st to take the lead. Two more Raven runs scored in the bottom of the 6th, and
Dionathan Cornet's solo shot in the 7th made it a 4-2 final.

Game 4, Benedictine hit a 2-out 2-strike grand slam in the bottom of the 1st, and MNU managed a single run in an 11-1 blowout.
