OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -Â After a pair of 6-0 shutouts at the hands of Oklahoma City and Doane, the Pioneers finally got back in the win column with a 7-3 victory over OCU on Saturday. The Stars got on the board with 2 runs in the bottom of the 1st, but the Pioneers answered in the top of the 2nd. After loading the bases with 1 out,
Dionathan Cornet was hit by a pitch, and a wild pitch tied the game. A
Drew Woodley sacrifice fly gave MNU the lead for good. In the top of the 4th,
Brycen Sherwood drilled a 2-out 3 run homer, and the Pioneers led 6-2.
AJ McMahon's solo homer in the 5th made it 7-2, and MNU held on to win 7-3.
Turning Point
MNU's 3-run 2nd gave them the lead for good.
Individual Leaders
Tyler Frieders struck out 5 in 4 innings for the win.
Reece Helland and
Kristian Hurtado pitched 3 innings of scoreless relief. And
