OLATHE, Kan. -Â After 3 straight road wins over break, MNU fell at home 71-69 to Benedictine on Saturday. The Pioneers started strongly and took an 18-8 lead, but the Ravens went on a 21-7 run to take a 4-point lead at the 4:45 mark. MNU closed the half with a 13-5 run for a 4-point halftime lead. The second half was tight until a 3-minute 11-1 burst from the Ravens to give them a 9-point lead. With 1Â minute left, MNU still trailed by 7, but
Anthony Brown scored 5 quick points and
Ed Wright hit a 3 after two BC free throws to close the gap to 1 with 8 seconds left. After a quick foul, Benedictine made the first free throw but missed the second, giving MNU once more chance. But the forced 3-pointer at the buzzer went begging, and the Ravens held on.

Benedictine's 11-1 run late in the 2nd half built a 9-point lead.
