PARKVILLE, Mo. - The Pioneers won a gritty contest at Park on Wednesday. The Pirates scored in the 8th minute to take the lead, but MNU drew a foul in the penalty area for a PK chance. Rick Hovinga's shot was saved by the keeper, but the ball deflected right back to him for a easy score. The game remained deadlocked into the 70th minute, when a ball bounced around in the box until it found Hovinga's foot again for a go-ahead goal. The defense stood firm for the final 20 minutes, and MNU escaped with a road win.
