OLATHE, Kan.. - The Pioneers took an early 2-0 lead and made it hold in a 2-1 victory over Mt. Mercy on Saturday.
Jony Munoz got MNU on the board in the 10th minute, and an Own Goal made it 2-0 in the 19th minute. Early in the second half, Mt. Mercy scored on a beautiful cross, and the Pioneers were forced to defend a furious attack from the Mustangs for the final 40 minutes.
Turning Point
The Own Goal proved to be the difference.
