Pioneers Split at Benedictine

ATCHISON, Kan. - MNU and Benedictine split a double header in Atchison on Wednesday. In Game 1, MNU put runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs in the top of the 1st. Emma Ryan's RBI single scored 1, and it turned out to be all MNU needed. Alli VanLanker drove in a run in the 2nd, and Allison Denges knocked home a third run in the 6th. Alexis Wilds kept the Ravens off the scoreboard, and MNU won 3-0.

Game 1 Turning Point
The run in the top of the 1st was the game-winner.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Alexis Wilds struck out 8 in a 3-hit complete game shutout. And Alli VanLanker (3-4, R, RBI), Madeline Brooks (1-2, R, BB), and Allison Denges (2-3, RBI) had big games at the plate.

In Game 2, the Ravens scored multiple runs in the 1st, 3rd, and 6th to lead throughout. The Pioneers fought back with 5 runs, but it wasn't enough as Benedictine won 11-5.

Game 2 Turning Point
BC's 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd put MNU in too big of a hole. 

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Cordelia Hanger (1-2, 2 R, BB, SB, HBP), Alli VanLanker (1-3, RBI, HBP), and Londin Fiorella (2-3, RBI, BB) reached base at least twice.
