COLUMBIA, Mo. - MNU snapped a 3-game skid with a 6-1 victory at Columbia on Wednesday. The Pioneers rallied for 2 runs in the 1st inning and pitchers Noah Casillo and
Nathan Torres made it hold up. With 2 outs and nobody on in the top of the 1st,
Brycen Sherwood doubled and
Joshuan Sandoval was intentionally walked. After
Josh Torrance got hit to load the bases,
Randy Fernandez drilled a 2-run single to open the scoring.
In the top of the 2nd with 1 out,
Trey Larimer was hit by a pitch and
Drew Woodley singled.
Ryan Leo followed with an RBI single, and Sherwood added a run with a sacrifice fly. Sandoval's 2-out RBI single made it 5-0. Another run scored in the top of the 3rd after a Leo 2-out RBI single, and Columbia scored their only run of the game in the bottom of the innning. Castillo pitched into the 8th for his first collegiate win, and
Nathan Torres got the final 5 outs to seal the win.
