Pioneers Run Away in 4th vs. Valley

OLATHE, Kan. - MNU dominated the 4th quarter in a 76-57 victory over Missouri Valley on Wednesday. The Pioneers built an 8-point lead in the 1st quarter, but the Vikings closed the gap to 2 in the 2nd. A late 3-pointer by Arielle Sargent pushed the MNU lead back to 9 at halftime, but Valley again chipped away in the 3rd quarter and closed the gap to 5 heading to the 4th. The 4th quarter was all TrEl'Shawn Smith. From the 7:23 mark to the 3:28 mark, she scored 11 points and pushed the MNU lead to 18. Smith scored 13 points in the quarter for a 23-point performance as the Pioneers won by 19.
