OLATHE, Kan. - MNU won a tough 87-83 contest over Central Methodist on Wednesday. The Pioneers led by 8 with 4 minutes left in the first half, but the Eagles closed with a 14-5 run to take a 1-point lead to the locker room. The lead was 4 when MNU leading scorer Anthony Brown exited with a leg injury at the 14-minute mark, but the Pioneers closed the gap and tied the game at 54 when he returned with 10 minutes left. CMU built another 5-point lead, but 2 buckets from Mekhi Elmore and a Brown free throw tied the game again. With 2 minutes left, Brooks Langrehr buried a big 3, but CMU hit on of their own to tie it. Anthony Brown went on a personal 6-0 run in the closing minute, and MNU hit their free throws down the stretch to hang on.
