Pioneers Fall in Indy

The Basics
Score: MNU 1 - Campbellsville 3
Record: MNU (14-4), CU (12-5-1)
Location: St. Vincent Field | Indianapolis, Ind.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Pioneers led 1-0 at halftime, but a flurry of goals from Campbellsville ended MNU's season on Thursday. In the 27th minute, Ona Barron gave MNU a 1-0 lead. It marked the first goal at NAIA Nationals in Pioneer history; they had been shut out in 2 previous matches. Early in the 2nd half, an injury to Barron seemed to turn the game around. Over the next 17 minutes, Campellsville scored more goals than MNU had allowed in any game all season, and the Pioneers trailed 3-1. MNU spent the remaining 15 minutes firing away in the offensive end, but the Tiger defense helm firm for a 3-1 final.

Turning Point
The goal in the 68th minute was the difference.

Individual Leaders
Ona Barron recorded MNU's first ever goal at NAIA Nationals. And Marcelle Thedinga had 8 saves.
