Pioneers Fall to #6 Benedictine to Close Season

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers closed the season on Senior Day with a 43-21 loss to #6 Benedictine on Saturday. MNU stopped the Ravens on their opening drive, and Blake Atkins found Caleb Tanis for a 49-yard touchdown reception for an early lead. Benedictine responded with a touchdown, then forced a fumble and scored again for a 14-7 lead. Atkins found Tanis again early in the 2nd quarter to tie the game, but the Ravens came right back with another touchdown. The Pioneers drove 63 yards in 13 plays, but a field goal attempt was block for an empty possession. Benedictine scored again before the half to take a 27-14 lead to the locker room.

MNU got the ball to start the second half, but a first-play safety and quick touchdown turned a relatively close game into a big lead for the visitors. The Pioneers couldn't mount a comeback, and the Ravens won by 22.
