OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers used a big third quarter to turn a deficit into a lead in Saturday's 81-71 win over Peru State. In a sluggish first quarter, MNU managed just 11 points. But the Pioneers turned the tables in the second quarter and held Peru to 12 as the teams went to the locker room separated by 1 point. The Pioneers started the third quarter on a 10-0 run, and entered the fourth leading by 9. Peru managed to get within 1 a couple times, but MNU was able to hold them off with timely buckets and free throws to win by 10.

Individual Leaders
Lydia Ostenson shot 7-12 for 17 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Megan Scott was 6-9 for 17 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 2 steals. Jordynn Gonzalez shot 5-7 for 16 points off the bench. Makayla Gooch added 14 points and 4 assists. And TrEl'Shawn Smith had 10 points.
