OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers split a couple of exciting games vs. Benedictine on Friday. In Game 1, MNU took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd with 2 outs when Emma Gordon knocked in Cordelia Hanger, and Brianna Carter singled home Audrey Denges for a 2-0 lead. Benedictine responded with 3 runs in each of the next 2 innings to take a 6-4 lead. In the bottom of the 5th, a Hannah Tenberge 2-out 2-run single got MNU within 1, and a Carter sac fly tied the game at 6 in the 6th. In the bottom of the 7th, 3 straight singles loaded the bases for Morgan Fouch, who drilled the first pitch over the drawn-in outfield for the walk-off win.

Game 1 Turning Point
Fouch's walk-off won the game.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Alexis Wilds struck out 5 in a complete game victory. And Cordelia Hanger (2-5, R, 3B), Londin Fiorella (3-5), Morgan Fouch (2-4, 2 RBI, SB, HBP), Audrey Denges (1-2, R, BB, SB, HBP), Emma Gordon (1-2, R, RBI, SB, 2 HBP), Brianna Carter (2-3, R, 2 RBI, SB), and Hannah Tenberge (3-4, R, 2 RBI) led the offense.

In Game 2, the teams traded big innings early and the Ravens led 7-5 in the 4th inning. MNU was held scoreless from the 3rd through the 6th, but mounted a rally in the 7th. Morgan Fouch led off with a walk, and Audrey Denges' double put the tying runs in scoring position with no outs. After a walk, a sacrifice fly cut the deficit to 1, and another walk re-loaded the bases. Kellie Dumas seemingly tied the game with another sac fly, but it was determined that the runner left early, and the double play ended the game.

Game 2 Turning Point
The double play ended the game instead of tying it.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Londin Fiorella (2-4, R, 2B), Morgan Fouch (2-3, R, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB), and Brianna Carter (3-3, 2B, 3 RBI, SF) had multi-hit games.
