OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers started fast and held off a late charge in a 76-72 victory over Evangel on Saturday. The game was tied at 14 before MNU went on an 18-4 run to take a 14-point lead. With 15 minutes remaining, MNU led by 16. But the Valor made a huge push over the next 8 minutes to take a 1-point lead. The Pioneers responded with a 12-0 run, but the Valor again made a run to tie the game with 1:30 remaining. Anthony Brown collected an offensive rebound on MNU's next possession and canned a floater in the paint, and the Pioneers were able to come with consecutive stops to seal the victory.

Anthony Brown shot 6-9 from the field and 8-10 from the line for 20 points and 8 rebounds. Cameron Brady had 18 points, 12 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 3 steals. Jake Alexander had 15 points. And Darnell Miller had 14 points and 5 assists.
