Pioneers Fall in 4 at Grand View to Close Season

DES MOINES, Mo. - MNU won the first set, but dropped the next 3 in a 4-set loss in the Heart Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday. The scores were 27-25, 16-25, 20-25, and 20-25.

"First of all, my congratulations to Grand View." said head coach Molly Karagyaurov. "They're a solid team in a solid program with solid leadership. As for my girls, I'm so proud. We made a top 20 team look nervous on their own floor. And that's not easy to do. We've come so far this year on and off the court. We have grown a lot but growth isn't easy or pretty. But we finished strong with a group who played hard all the way to the end. To our seniors, you will be missed. It was a solid group of women who put a lot into this team but also into the program over the last few years. The next step is to take some time off - heal, rest, study. Then we will be back and ready in the spring to get better this off season!"

Individual Leaders
Jennifer Roth led the offense with 12 kills and 18 digs. Nikoleta Kandic had 11 kills and 16 digs. Teresa Saunders added 11 kills. Fernanda Canedo Ostojic had 10 kills. Savannah Crossland had 21 digs. And Gracie Myers had 40 assists.
