MARSHALL, Mo. - The Pioneers beat Missouri Valley in overtime on Saturday. MNU got the scoring started with a
Cameron Finley 60-yard punt return for a touchdown, but Valley responded with a 7-play 65-yard touchdown drive to tie it. Backup QB
Adrian Parsons took over during the next drive, and scrambled 18 yards for a touchdown. Valley scored 3 straight touchdowns to take a 28-14 lead, but the Pioneers were able to answer before halftime with a Parsons to
Bryan Cox to close the gap.
MNU forced a 3-and-out to open the second half, and Parsons found
Caleb Tanis for his NAIA-leading 20th touchdown reception to tie the game.
Anthony Sao picked off a pass to stop Valley on the next drive, and the Pioneers marched 69 yards on 12 plays for a Parsons to
Myles Hymes touchdown and a 7-point lead. The defenses held firm for the next few possessions, but Valley finally tied the game with just over 1 minutes left and it went into overtime.
MNU got the ball first and scored on a 1-yard rush from
Colinje Wilridge. On the first play of Valley's drive,
Troy Hall stepped in front of a pass for his 6th interception to end the game.

Paul Hansen. "Offense, Defense, and Special Teams all made big plays today. I'm very happy how we finished the game and made the plays that we needed to win. We will enjoy this and get ready for a very good Benedictine team next week."

Troy Hall's pick on Valley's first play of overtime won it.

Adrian Parsons was 17-30 for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also ran for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Colinje Wilridge rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown.
