OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers opened the season with a 60-57 loss to Haskell Indian Nations University on Tuesday. MNU controlled the first half and had a 15-point lead with 1 minute remaining in the 2nd quarter. But Haskell closed with a 5-0 run and opened the 3rd with a 7-0 run to get back into the game. The Pioneers maintained a small lead for most of the 4th quarter, but Haskell closed the game on a 6-0 run to nip MNU at the end.

Turning Point
Haskell's 12-0 run to close the 2nd quarter and open the 3rd quarter turned the game around.

Individual Leaders
Jordynn Gonzalez had 13 points and 5 assists. TrEl'Shawn Smith had 12 points and 6 rebounds. Megan Scott added 8 points and 6 rebounds. And Lydia Ostenson and Sophie Reed had 7 points off the bench.
