Pioneers Storm Back at Valley

MARSHALL, Mo. - MNU dropped the first 2 sets, but came all the way back to beat Missouri Valley 3-2 on Tuesday. The scores were 21-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-23, and 15-8.

"Wow! First of all, Missouri Valley is tough! said head coach Molly Karagyaurov. "They were digging the ball and swing for the win. So my hat is off to them and their Coach Tamika for the fight they showed. That's a completely different program than the past few years. I am so proud of these girls! The never say die attitude they showed tonight was so great. We are still learning to play through the nerves and pressure. And that's understandable the year after graduating so many starters. But coming back from being down 0-2 on the road is where dreams come true! Woah. I love this sport."

Our reserves also pulled out a really tight win! They executed in the clutch in the final 5 points of both sets. Coach Adam has that group looking better and better every time they play. 

So two wins - I will take any day of the week! It was a party bus all the way home that's for sure! Apologies to the dorms for all the honking right around midnight. I'm always proud to be the coach of this team but tonight a little extra because that was sweet!"

Turning Point
MNU jumped out to a big lead in Set 5.

Individual Leaders
Fernanda Canedo Ostojic had 24 kills and 12 digs. Nikoleta Kandic had 13 kills and 11 digs. Milayna Hollinger added 8 kills. And Gracie Myers had 48 assists and 11 digs.
