Location:Â Bell Family Arena | Olathe, Kan.
OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers swept Evangel in dominant fashion on Friday. In Set 1, Evangel led 16-12 and appeared to be control. But after a timeout, MNU scored the next 6 straight to take the lead. Evangel responded with 4 straight points to re-take the lead, but MNU closed with another 6-point run to take a 1-0 lead in the match. MNU won the second set 25-15 and the third set 25-11 to earn the sweep.
"That was fun!" said head coach
Molly Karagyaurov. "The team leaned into the challenge and followed their scouting report. But bottom line, Evangel is a great program who is well coached and been a presence at the national level since I was in school. So yeah, that's a great win against a conference rival any way you look at it. Jen [Roth] scored 17 points. Mack [Webster] and Kourtney [Hansen] had 14 digs apiece. Bethany [Allison] hitting a .417 with 6 kills and 2 aces as a freshman. Lots of things came together tonight in those 3 sets and I'm proud of the girls. They earned that one!
"I continue to be thankful to God for having another opportunity to play during this crazy time. Even with 7 matches under our belt; I'm not taking the 8th for granted. We will be thankful for each day we are given and continue to work hard."
