Pioneers Earn Sweep at Culver

CANTON, Mo. - MNU pitching dominated in a double header sweep at Culver-Stockton on Friday. In Game 1, MNU rallied for 3 runs in the top of the 2nd inning to take control, and Kyle Waller allowed no earned runs in a complete game victory. The Pioneers made it 5-1 with a 2-run 4th and held on to win 5-2.

Kyle Waller struck out 8 and allowed just 6 hits for the complete game victory. And Randy Fernandez (3-4, 2 R, RBI, 2 SB), Will Morris (3-3, R, 2 2B, 3 RBI, BB), Joshuan Sandoval (2-4, 2B, RBI), and Austin Healy (1-3, 2 R, 2 SB, HBP) led the offense.

In Game 2, the Pioneers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the 2nd inning, and Easten Garrett tossed a complete game shutout to complete the sweep. MNU rallied for 3 more runs in the 6th to win 8-0.
