OLATHE, Kan. - MNU swept Grand View to open conference play on Friday. In
Game 1, both pitchers were on point and allowed just 3 hits apiece. Grand View had 1st and 3rd nobody out in the top of the 1st, but
Jhon Vargas escaped unscathed. MNU got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 1st.
Randy Fernandez led off with a double, and Kyle's Waller's RBI groundout brought him home 1 out later. Grand View's leadoff batter reached in each of the first 5 innings, but Vargas kept escaping damage. The 6th and 7th innings were perfect, and MNU won their second 1-0 game of the season.

Jhon Vargas allowed just 3 hits and struck out 5 in a complete game shutout. And

In
Game 2, Will Morris' 2-out RBI single in the bottom of the 2nd put the Pioneers in front. The Vikings tied it in the top of the 4th, but MNU blew it open in the 6th. On 3 hits, the Pioneers managed 4 runs, and held on to win 5-1.
