Pioneers Drop Tight Contest at Peru State

PERU, Neb. - The Pioneers dropped a heartbreaker at Peru State on Saturday. The game was tight throughout as neither team took a double-digit lead. Peru led by 7 at the beginning of the second half, but the Pioneers took a 7-point lead of their own with 6:23 remaining in the game. The Bobcats fought back to tie it with 3 minutes to go, and an Anthony Brown 3-point play put MNU up by 1 with 90 seconds to go. Peru State scored on their next possession to take the lead, and a 'blocked shot' thwarted an MNU layup with 40 seconds left. Peru made their free throws down the stretch, and MNU lost by 7.
