OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers escaped a great battle vs. Ecclesia College after a late 3-pointer from Anthony Brown on Wednesday. MNU built a 14-point lead in the first half and took a 10-point lead into halftime. But the Falcons fought back with a 15-2 run early in the second half to tie the game. MNU kept building small leads for the next several minutes only to see Ecclesia battle back time and again. The Falcons finally took a 3-point lead with 5 minutes left, and the teams traded buckets until MNU led by 1 with 90 seconds remaining. A pair of free throws with 22 seconds left gave Ecclesia the lead, but Anthony Brown buried a corner 3 with 3.9 seconds remaining. The Falcons final chance went begging, and MNU survived.
