MNU Comeback Falls Short vs. Peru State

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers lost a heartbreaker at home 81-76 against Peru State on Thursday. MNU came out of the 1st half down by 7 after a buzzer beater 3 from Deonte McReynolds. A slow start to the 2nd half saw the Pioneers down by 12 a little over 3 minutes into play. With the Bobcats leading by more than 10 points, the Pioneers needed to score quickly. Anthony Brown and Trey Brown hit a few three pointers approaching the end of the game, at one point cutting the Peru State lead down to 2. But Peru State managed to hold off the Pioneers, winning the game 81-76.

Turning Point
Deonte McReynolds hit a buzzer beater 3 to end the first half and give Pere State a 7-point lead.

Individual Leaders
Dakota Quinn led MNU in scoring, rebounds, and blocks with 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Trey Brown had 16 points and 7 assists. Dante Scroggins had 11 points and 6 rebounds. And Anthony Brown and Patrick Cairns had 10 points apiece.
