Pioneers Split Tourney at Columbia

VB at #2 Columbia | L 2-3

VB vs. Olivet Nazarene | W 3-0

VB vs. William Wood | W 3-1

VB vs. #1 Park | L 0-3

"Today was a good day," said Coach Karagyaurov. "We faced a strong Columbia team and showed some fight! The ladies rose to the challenge and that's encouraging to see. We stuck to our system and what we do well; their discipline made it possible to be in a very big 5 set match. It was a true thriller - a few points the other way and we beat the #2 ranked team on their home floor.

"We were scheduled to play at 3pm and 7pm today but our first court was running behind and then we went to 5 and 13-15 in the 5th with Columbia. We didn't even have an hour between that tough loss and facing Olivet which is always a tough Nazarene rivalry. My kids didn't even get their food! So to come out and have such a strong showing and sweep Olivet was huge.

I'm proud of the improvement and growth I see individually as well as corporately. We are making baby steps and I couldn't ask for more than that."
