CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - MNU controlled the first half of the game, but Grand View exploded late in the first round of the Heart Conference Tournament on Wednesday. MNU jumped all over the #18-ranked Vikings when 
Kaleigh Bayless doubled and 
Cassidy Berry homered in the 1st inning.
After a 
Tessa Ward single and 
Audrey Denges double, 
Taylor Creason's RBI single made it 3-0. The lead was extended in the 2nd when 
Emily Butcoff walked and 
Cassidy Berry drove her home with 1 out. Another run scored on an error in the 3rd, and the Pioneers led 5-0. In the bottom of the 5th, Grand View started to come back. With 2 outs and 1 on, the Vikings rallied with a single and a double to score 2. Another bases loaded single made it 5-3, but MNU escaped the inning when a baserunning mistake caused the 3rd out. It all fell apart in the bottom of the 6th when Grand View recorded 7 runs on 7 hits to take a commanding lead. MNU couldn't mount a threat in the 7th, and Grand View won 10-5.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - MNU fell behind early but made a ferocious late comeback in an extra inning loss to Benedictine on Thursday. The Pioneers took the lead on a 1st-inning RBI single from 
Audrey Denges, but the Ravens scored in each of the first 4 innings to take a 6-1 lead. In the top of the 6th, MNU started to make a comeback. 
Cassidy Berry led off with a solo homer and 
Audrey Denges matched it 1 out later. In the top of the 7th trailing 6-3, 
Kaleigh Bayless led off with a walk and 
Cassidy Berry reached on an error with 1 out. 
Tessa Ward drilled a 3-run homer to tie it up, and the game went into extra innings.
In the bottom of the 8th, the Ravens managed 3 hits to bring home a run and end MNU's season.
