ATCHISON, Kan. - MNU dropped the 1st and 3rd games of a 3-game series at Benedictine this weekend. In the 9-inning Game 1, MNU opened the game with a 3-run 1st inning highlighted by a 2-run single from Jeremie Gonzalez, and led 4-1 after 2 innings. The Ravens answered with 2 in the 3rd and 4 in the 5th, then blew it open with 4 in the 6th to lead 11-4. The Pioneers scored twice in the top of the 9th but fell by 8.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Austin Healy (2-4, 2 R, 2 2B, BB), Joshuan Sandoval (3-4, 2B, 3 RBI, SF), Jeremie Gonzalez (2-5, 2 RBI), and Will Morris (1-1, R, 2 BB) led the offense.

In the 7-inning Game 2, Benedictine built a 4-0 lead after 3 innings, but MNU came back in the 5th. Three straight hits and an error brought home 2 runs, and a Joshua Crispin double scored 2 more to tie it. Joshuan Sandoval's double put MNU up 5-4, but the Ravens scored twice in the bottom of the inning to re-take the lead. In the top of the 6th, Sam Parrish singled with one out and Tyler Crane and Kyle Franklin were hit by a pitch to load the bases. Austin Healy walked to tie the game, and a wild pitch put MNU up by 1. Nick Barker took the mound for the 6th and 7th and retired 6 of 7 hitters to earn the save.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Easten Garrett faced one batter and struck him out to earn the victory. Nick Barker struck out 4 in 2 innings for the save. And Joshua Crispin (1-3, R, 2B, 2 RBI), Jeremie Gonzalez (2-4, 2B), Cristian Rivera (2-4, R), and Sam Parrish (2-4, 2 R, 2B, RBI) led the offense.

In the 9-inning Game 3 - without leadoff man Crispin due to injury - MNU scored 3 in the top of the 1st, highlighted by a 2-out 2-run double by Crispin's replacement Kyle Franklin. Starter Austyn Gooch kept Benedictine scoreless into the 6th as MNU built a 4-0 lead. In the bottom of the 6th, the Ravens finally struck with a 2-run homer to cut the deficit in half. In the bottom of the 8th, the Ravens rallied for 3 runs on 4 hits to take a 5-4 lead. Jeremie Gonzalez drilled a 1-out solo homer to tie the game in the top of the 9th, and the teams went to extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th, a 2-out RBI single won it for the Ravens to take the rubber game of the series.

Austyn Gooch struck out 8 in 5.2 innings in a no decision. And Austin Healy (1-4, R, 2 BB, 2 SB), Juwan Padro (2-6, R, 2B), Jeremie Gonzalez (1-5, R, HR, 2 RBI, SF), Chase Robinson (1-3, R, 2 HBP), and Kyle Franklin (1-5, 2B, 2 RBI, SB) led the offense.
