Kellan Turner's late 3-pointer led MNU to an 80-79 victory over Central Methodist on Wednesday. A close first half ended with a long CMU 3 at the buzzer to give the Eagles a 7-point lead, and the advantage grew to 11 early in the 2nd half. A 7-0 run got MNU back in the game, the the Pioneers stayed within 2 possessions for the next 10 minutes. MNU finally took the lead with under 3 minutes left on a pair of
Isaac McCullough free throws. CMU answered with a bucket to lead by 1, and
Kellan Turner buried a 3-pointer with 48 seconds left to put the Pioneers up by 2. After getting a defensive stop, MNU relied on
Jonathan Green's free throw touch to keep the lead. Green went 6-6 down the stretch to put the Pioneers up by 4 with 3 seconds left, and CMU hit a 3 at the buzzer to account for the 1-point final.
