OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers trailed by 16 with 9 minutes remaining, but a furious finish saw MNU beat Graceland 73-69 on Saturday. The Yellowjackets came out strong and led 20-6 after 9 minutes of play. MNU fought their way back into the game and trailed by just 2 at halftime. Graceland again came out strong to start the 2nd half and led by 16 with 9 minutes left. The Pioneers chipped away but still trailed by 10 with just over 5 minutes to play.
Anthony Brown hit a 3,
Dante Scroggins hit 2 free throws,
Anthony Brown added another bucket, and
Trey Brown buried a deep 3 to tie the game in just 90 seconds to tie the game. Another Scroggins free throw gave MNU the lead, but Graceland answered with a fast break layup to take the lead right back.
Trey Brown drilled another 3 with 1:26 left, however, and Scroggins hit 4 free throws in the final minute to seal the victory.
