The first half was an even contest with both teams creating a handful of decent chances, but the game was scoreless at the break. In the 53rd minute, a handball in the box resulted in a CMU penalty kick. The attempt bounced off the post but ricocheted off the keeper and into the goal for a 1-0 lead. Just 2 minutes later, CMU got loose on a breakaway and scored for a 2-0 lead. Late in the game, the Eagles found the net again after a scramble in the box and held on for the 3-0 shutout.
