Trey Brown's 3-pointer in the final seconds gave the Pioneers a 74-71 victory over Evangel and snapped MNU's 5-game losing streak on Wednesday. The Pioneers took a 5-point lead into halftime, then extended the lead to 11 early in the second half. But MNU went cold over the next 8 minutes and were outscored 21-6 to find themselves down by 4.
Cam Chrisman's 3-pointer ended the run, and the game was tied soon after. MNU led by 5 with 2 minutes left, but the Crusaders scored on their next two possessions to tie it with under a minute left.
Trey Brown's first points of the game gave MNU the lead, but Evangel tied it with free throws with 12 seconds left. On MNU's final possession, Brown fired a deep 3 near the MNU bench to put the Pioneers up with 3 seconds left. Evangel's final desperation attempt went begging, and MNU held on.
