The Pioneers built a 7-point lead early in the second half, but the offense went cold over the next 11 minutes and Valley crawled back into the game with a 25-11 run to take a 7-point lead of their own. With 4 minutes left, Valley led by 8, but a 7-0 Pioneer run brought them within 1 with under a minute remaining. Valley ended their ensuing possession with a back-breaking 3-pointer, and the Pioneers couldn't score again for a 4-point loss.
