Pioneers Fall at Home

OLATHE, Kan. - MNU lost their first home game 73-67 at the hands of Benedictine on Monday. The Ravens jumped out to a 6-1 lead as MNU struggled to score, but the Pioneers finished the period on an 11-1 run to take a 12-7 lead at the break. A more up tempo 2nd quarter saw the Ravens tie the game at 33 at the half. The Pioneers built an 8-point lead near the end of the 3rd quarter, but Benedictine finished the period with 5 straight points to get back to within 3. With 3 minutes left in the game, MNU led by 7. But by the time they scored again, the game was well in hand as Benedictine rattled off 17 straight points. MNU hit a couple of 3s in the final seconds to get within 6 at the buzzer.
