OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers fell to 0-3 in conference play after a 5-set defeat at the hands of Missouri Valley on Friday. The Vikings won a relatively tight first set 25-21, then took advantage of MNU's -0.043 hitting percentage in the second set to win 25-17. The Pioneers completely turned it around in the 3rd and 4th sets, however, hitting .444 and .324 respectively to overwhelm Valley 25-12 and 25-14. In Set 5, MNU led 9-7 before the Vikings went on a 5-0 run to pull ahead. With Valley leading 14-10, the Pioneers fought back with 3 straight points, but the Vikings held on for a 15-13 win.

Valley's 5-point run in the 5th set was the deciding factor.
