Pioneers Beat Coyotes in Home Opener

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers have won 3 straight after a 3-1 victory over Kansas Wesleyan in Wednesday's home opener. Hannah Benedict got MNU on the board in the 14th minute when she took a pass from Maria Garcia and fired a shot off the bottom of the cross bar and into the net. The game remained 1-0 until the 75th minutes when Elvia Villagomez lofted a corner kick into the box and found the feet of Savannah Moxley who made it 2-0. Nine minutes later, another Villagomez corner kick was headed home by Moxley for a 3-0 lead. The Coyotes scored with 3 minutes remaining, but the Pioneers held the 2-goal advantage.

Turning Point
MNU's goal in the 75th minute proved to be the difference.

Individual Leaders
Savannah Moxley scored 2 goals and Hannah Benedict had 1. And Elvia Villagomez recorded two assists while Maria Garcia tallied the other.
