OLATHE, Kan. - MNU swept a wild double header vs. Missouri Valley on Thursday and completed the 4-game sweep on Saturday. In Game 1, Jacob Sylvester struck out 6 and allowed 5 hits in a complete game victory. MNU scored 4 in the bottom of the 1st and single runs in the 5th and 6th. Valley managed a 3-run homer in the 5th, but MNU won 6-3.

Game 1 Turning Point
MNU's 4-run rally in the 1st was enough to win.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Jacob Sylvester threw just 80 pitches in the 5-hit complete game. And Carlos Reyes (3-3, 2 R, 2B, 2 SB), Jacob Jenkins (1-3, R, 3B, 2 RBI), and Joshuan Sandoval (2-3, 2B, RBI) led the offense.

In Game 2, Valley rallied for 3 runs in the top of the 1st, but the Pioneers scored 8 runs with 2 outs and 9 total, in the bottom of the inning. Valley kept scoring, however, and trailed MNU 12-11 in the 4th inning. MNU scored 2 in the bottom of the 4th and held off the Vikings to win 14-12.

MNU's 9-run 1st gave them a lead they would not relinquish.

Austyn Gooch struck out 6 in 3 innings of relief for the win. And Carlos Reyes (3-4, 4 R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB, 2 SB), Lenzie Foley (2-4, 2 R, 2 RBI, SB, SF), Jacob Jenkins (3-4, R, 4 RBI), JP Rousseau (3-4, R, RBI), Isaac Geisinger (1-3, R, 2B, 2 RBI, HBP), and Cooper Curran (1-3, 2 R, 2B, RBI, HBP) had big games at the plate.

In Game 3, starter Jordan Dailey allowed 1 run in the second, but the Pioneers were held off the scoreboard until the bottom of the 5th. MNU loaded the bases and rallied for 4 runs, thanks to RBIs from Joshuan Sandoval, Cooper Curran, and Jacob Jenkins. Two errors led to 3 Valley runs in the 6th to tie it, but Sam Parrish and Carlos Reyes drove in runs in the bottom of the inning and MNU held on to win by 2.

Jordan Dailey struck out 10 in his complete game victory. And Jacob Jenkins (2-4, 2 RBI), Juwan Padro (2-2, 2 R, Sac), Sam Parrish (2-3, R, RBI), Joshuan Sandoval (2-3, RBI), and Cooper Curran (1-2, R, RBI, BB) led the offense.

In Game 4, Jacob Jenkins, Carter Dye, and Lenzie Foley combined to hold Valley to just 1 run. MNU scored twice in the 2nd on a Joshuan Sandoval homer, and plated 2 more in the 3rd. Then the Pioneers put the game away with an Isaac Geisinger 3-run shot in the 5th.

Joshuan Sandoval's 2-run homer in the 2nd was all MNU needed.

Game 4 Individual Leaders
Jacob Jenkins earned the with with 4 innings of 3-hit 1-run ball. Carter Dye struck out 2 in 2 innings of scoreless and hitless relief. Lenzie Foley finished with a hitless inning. And JP Rousseau (2-3, R), Juwan Padro (1-3, R, RBI), Isaac Geisinger (1-3, R, HR, 3 RBI), and Joshuan Sandoval (1-3, R, HR, 2 RBI) led the offense.
