STERLING, Kan. - MNU started the 2018 season with a double header sweep at Sterling on Wednesday. In Game 1, Sterling scored 3 in the bottom of the 2nd but could manage no more. MNU rallied to tie it in the 5th then scored 3 in the 6th and 7th to blow it open.

Game 1 Turning Point
Megan Anthony's 2-run double in the bottom of the 6th gave the Pioneers a 3-run lead.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Emily Robinson struck out 7 in a complete game victory. She also went 2-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. And Taylor Creason (2-4, 2B, RBI) and Megan Anthony (2-3, R, 2B, 3 RBI) had 2 hits apiece.

In Game 2, MNU scored in the top of the 1st but Sterling rallied for 2 in the bottom. In the top of the 3rd, Taylor Creason and Tessa Ward recorded consecutive 2-out RBIs to give the Pioneers a 3-2 lead. In the 7th, Kinsey Kiser doubled and Jostyn Bebout tripled to extend the lead. Macie Jones followed with a single, and the Pioneers took a 5-2 lead into the 7th. Sterling threatened after a couple of errors, but Bebout escaped the jam to preserve the 5-3 win.

Game 2 Turning Point
MNU's 2-run 3rd inning gave them a lead they would not relinquish.

Game 2 Individual Leaders
Jostyn Bebout struck out 4 in a complete game victory. She also went 1-2 with an RBI triple. And Madison Butcoff (0-2, 2 R, 2 BB, SB) and Kinsey Kiser (2-3, R, 2B, BB) led the offense.
