SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - MNU dug a huge hole and couldn't escape in a 96-87 loss at Evangel on Wednesday. The Crusaders closed the first half on a 26-11 run to take a 16-point lead at the break, and increased their lead to 24 with 8:30 remaining in the game. MNU tried to fight back with a 14-0 run over the next 3 minutes, then used a 17-5 run to get within 2 with under 2 minutes left. The Crusaders were able to stretch the lead back to 7, however, and MNU's comeback fell short.

Evangel's run to close the first half was too much to overcome.

Kellen Turner hit 7 threes for 23 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals off the bench.
Dante Scroggins shot 7-10 for 17 points.
