OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers started the game on a 15-0 run but had to survive a final push in a 69-64 victory over Grand View on Saturday. After 15-3 opening quarter, Grand View responded with a 23-18 2nd quarter to trail by 7 at halftime. The Pioneers pushed the lead back to 11 after the 3rd, but Grand View did not go quietly. Nursing a 7-point lead with 3 minutes left, MNU went cold. A few missed free throws and a couple turnovers led to a 7-0 run and a tie game. With 30 seconds left, MNU split a pair of free throws to take the lead, and Grand View's next possession resulted in a good look at just rimmed off.
Jayden Oliver and Jovava Jovovic hit 4 straight free throws in the final seconds, and MNU won by 5.
