Whitney Moia set a new rebound record as MNU pulled away from Graceland in a 65-52 victory to open the conference schedule on Wednesday. The senior hauled in 22 rebounds - including 10 offensive - to break Jenna (Matson) Swinger's ('08) mark of 21 set 11 years ago. In the first quarter, Graceland scored 20 points to take a 6-point lead, but the MNU defense made the adjustment and made scoring a struggled the rest of the way. The Pioneers led by 3 at halftime, but Graceland stayed with MNU in the 3rd quarter and went to the 4th trailing by just 2.
Jovana Jovovic and Moia scored 6 straight points to start the 4th to open up an 8-point lead, and MNU held the Yellowjackets to 7 points in the period to win by 13.
