Pioneers Fall at William Penn

The Basics
Score: MNU 1 - William Penn 2
Record: MNU (4-4-1, 2-1-1), WPU (5-4, 2-3)
Location: Oskaloosa, Iowa

OSKALOOSA, Iowa - The Statesman came out to a fast start against the Pioneers on Saturday. William Penn scored from a set piece hit by their #19 who played a ball into the box and it was tucked away by #5. The Pioneers had a great response, connecting a 10-pass possession up the field to find Elvia Villagomez who earned the away side a penalty kick. The PK was converted by #11 Steffi Krohn to make it 1-1. But that score line was short-lived as the Statesman were awarded a PK to make it 2-1. Though MNU had much of the ball, they were kept at bay against an outstanding performance by the Statesmen's goalkeeper and the final score stayed 2-1.

Turning Point
WPU's PK gave them a lead they would not relinquish.

Individual Leaders
Steffi Krohn had MNU's lone goal.
