Jordan Dailey pitched a 4-hit 1-run complete game while the offense put up 7 runs to beat 1-seed and #6 ranked Clarke University. The victory guarantees MNU at least a runner-up finish in the Heart Tournament and a spot in the Opening Round of Nationals. The Pioneers got on the board in the bottom of the 2nd when
Kelvin Perez drove in
Jordan McCloud with 2 outs.
Isaac Geisinger followed with a 2-run bomb and MNU led 3-0. Clarke got a run when the first three batters reached in the 4th, but Dailey worked out of the jam with no further damage and the Crusaders didn't score again. In the bottom of the 5th,
Jason Jones' 2-run homer made it 5-1, and
Lenzie Foley blew it open with a 2-run single in the 6th to make it 7-1.
Turning Point
Isaac Geisinger's 2-run homer turned out to be the all the cushion Dailey needed.
