OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers lost Game 1 late but exploded in Game 2 to salvage a split vs. Mt. Mercy on Tuesday. In Game 1, neither team scored in the first 4 innings, but MNU got on the board in the bottom of the 5th. In the top of the 6th, the Mustangs scored twice to take the lead then blew it open with 4 in the 7th to put it out of reach.

Game 1 Individual Leaders
Zach Stinnett allowed just 2 hits in 5 innings in a no-decision. And
Christian Quinones (2-3, R) and
Lenzie Foley (1-3, RBI) led the offense.
In Game 2, first-time MNU starter
Jacob Jenkins pitched into the 5th and benefitted from a huge bottom of the 1st. The Pioneers trailed 1-0 after the top of the 1st, but MNU broke through in the bottom.
Robert Berning tied the game with a single, and
Isaac Geisinger followed with a 3-run homer to take a 4-1 lead. MNU batted around and Geisinger drove home 3 more later in the inning with a base-loaded double, and the Pioneers led 11-1. MNU cruised to a 14-3 victory.Â
