OLATHE, Kan. - Ellie Dietz poured in a career-high 24 points off the bench as MNU kept their season alive with a 70-65 victory over William Penn on Wednesday. The Pioneers struggled to get going, but used an 11-2 run late in the 1st to turn a 6-point deficit into a 3-point lead. In a game which struggled to find rhythm, 57 fouls were called and 86 free throws were shot. William Penn cut the deficit to 1 with 4 minutes left, but MNU scored the next 5 points to get a cushion and hit enough free throws down the stretch to hold off the Statesmen.
Turning Point
Dietz drilled her 5th 3-pointer of the game to give MNU a 6-point lead after Penn had gotten close in the 4th.
Individual Leaders
Ellie Dietz was 5-7 from deep and 7-9 from the line for a career-high 24 points off the bench.
Tristin Wicks went 8-9 from the stripe and had 14 points off the bench. And
Whitney Moia had 7 points, 13 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
