Randall's Three Buries Baker

The Basics
Score: MNU 75 - BU 72
Records: MNU (14-13, 13-10), Baker (14-13, 11-12)
Location: Bell Family Arena - Olathe, Kan.

OLATHE, Kan. - For the 3rd straight time vs. Baker, MNU won the game in the final seconds. Last season, Nick Syrie's spinning layup put MNU ahead just before the horn. Last month, David Nelson's 3 in the final seconds gave MNU a 1-point victory. And Wednesday night, Justin Randall copied Nelson with a go-ahead 3 with 10 seconds left.

MNU trailed by 10 with 13 minutes to go, but a 6-0 run by Jonathan Green cut the deficit to 4. With 3:16 left, Baker led by 7 but they would not find another basket. Payne Andrus hit 2 free throws, Green hit a fast break layup and a free throw to get the Pioneers within 2. With 20 seconds left, MNU forced a shot clock violation to get the ball back, and a broken play found Randall open at the top of the key. The senior drilled the go-ahead shot and Baker turned the ball over on the counter attack. David Nelson iced the game with 2 free throws, and MNU won 75-72.

Turning Point
Justin Randall's 3 capped a furious comeback as Baker's last 7 possessions ended with 6 turnovers and a blocked shot.
