Pioneers Win Home Opener

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers overcame 8 walks, 4 hit batsmen, and 3 errors to earn their first win of the season on Tuesday. MNU took the lead with a 2-out RBI double by Christian Quinones in the bottom of the 2nd, but Bethany tied it in the top of the 3rd. In the bottom of the inning, MNU scored 4 runs on 3 hits to take a 5-1 lead, but Bethany came another comeback in the 5th. The Swedes worked 4 walks and were hit by a pitch to go along with 2 hits for 4 runs to tie the game. MNU answered with a 2-out rally in the bottom of the 5th, and the bullpens handled the rest of the game. The combination of Zach Stinnett, Joel Lopez, and Phil Graham settled the game and neither team scored after the 5th.

Turning Point
The Swedes had just tied the game at 5 in the top of the 5th, but the Pioneers rallied with 2 outs and nobody on in the bottom of the inning to re-take the lead.
