Pioneers Drop Season Opener

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Pioneers had a runner in scoring position in every inning, but fell 10-7 at Oklahoma City in the season opener on Friday. The Stars rallied for 3 runs (1 earned) in the bottom of the 1st, but starter Phil Graham held them scoreless through the next 4 innings. In the top of the 6th, Lenzie Foley, Logan Tills, and Jason Jones recorded RBIs to tie the game. But in the bottom of the inning, Oklahoma City connected on a 2-out 3-run homer to re-take the lead. OCU followed with 2 singles and 2 doubles to go up by 6. MNU rallied for 3 in the top of the 7th with RBIs from Isaac Geisinger and Foley, then picked up 1 more in the 8th. The Stars scored 1 in the bottom of the 8th and the final was 10-7.

Turning Point
The Pioneers had just tied the game at 3 in the top of the 6th, but the Stars hit a 2-out 3-run homer then rallied for 3 more for a 6-run frame.
