Pioneers Win in Overtime

OLATHE, Kan. - The Pioneers won a back-and-forth overtime game 76-72 vs. #24 Lindenwood-Belleville on Wednesday. A tight first half saw MNU trailing by 7 with 90 seconds left, but MNU scored the last 3 points to trim the deficit to 4 at the break. In the 3rd quarter, MNU used a 16-0 run to turn a 6-point deficit into a 10-point lead, but the Lynx came back in the 4th. LU-B went on a 21-7 run to take a 2-point lead with 4 minutes remaining. Alisha Washington scored the next 4 points to re-take the lead, but the Lynx tied it again with 2 minutes to go. Both teams missed 2 free throws in the final 30 seconds to keep the game tied and send it to overtime. Alisha Washington scored the first 6 points of the OT, and MNU held off the Lynx for a 4-point victory.
